Can I attend without my mother?

If your mother is unable to attend, you can bring a close female relative, such as a sister or aunt, to accompany you. Fathers are not allowed to attend, but they can be involved if there is a mutual match and families decide to take things further after the event.

How does the event work?

You will meet up to 50 potential matches through 5-minute introductions, followed by a 3-course meal for further conversations. Contact details are shared only if both parties agree after the event.

Can fathers attend the event?

Fathers cannot attend the event. However, they will have the opportunity to be involved if there is a mutual match and both families wish to proceed.

No, contact details will only be shared if both parties mutually agree after the event.

What if I don’t meet anyone I’m interested in?

You are not under any pressure to make a decision at the event. If you do not meet someone, you can attend future events or continue your search independently.

ARE CANDIDATES THEMSELVES ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE EVENT?

No – This event is only for female representatives of candidates who are looking to pursue marriage.

WHY ARE CANDIDATES NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE EVENT?

There are plenty of matrimonial services where direct meeting of candidates is facilitated. This model is more suited for families which prefer initial interaction between representatives of candidates.

WHY IS THIS A FEMALE ONLY EVENT?

We have found that there is a significant segment of the muslim community who are more comfortable with female members of family to have the initial interaction due to their close relationship with the candidate and their natural intuition. Also, females tend to be more open and transparent in this kind of environment.

IS THERE A COST INVOLVED?

A nominal fee will be charged to cover the cost of the venue. The event is organised and run entirely by non-paid volunteers.

CAN I TURN UP ON THE DAY WITHOUT PRE-BOOKING?

No. Pre booking is necessary in order to ensure smooth operation on the day and for the candidates to be grouped appropriately prior to the event.
